Most Complete Bingo Terminology

  • ADMISSION PACKET – the minimum quantity of cards necessary to be admitted in a bingo hall. It usually contains 3 - 6 cards for each game.
  • AFTER GAME – extra game played after the end of a regular game.
  • AUTO-PURCHASE – a feature that allows the Bingo software to buy new cards automatically for each player in the beginning of each game.
  • BASKET BINGO - a game with basket prizes.
  • BINGO BOARD - an electronic board that displays all the called numbers.
  • BINGO BOOKS – a definite quantity of bingo cards bound together for each game.
  • BINGO CARD – a card that contains 25 spaces (5x5), with one blank in the middle and all the rest numbered with random numbers. The 5 columns correspond to the letters B-I-N-G-O, and contain numbers from 1-15 (B), 16-30 (I), 31-45 (N), 46-60 (G), 61-75 (O).
  • BLACKOUT (COVERALL) - a pattern where all the numbers on the card must be covered in order to win.
  • BONANZA BINGO - a progressive coverall jackpot.
  • CALLER - the person whose task is to call the numbers drawn.
  • CATCH-UP (AUTO-DAUB) – a feature that automatically marks the called numbers on the player's card.
  • CHAT ROOM - A handy screen displayed next to your game where you can read and exchange messages with other players online.
  • FOUR CORNERS - a pattern where to win you need to cover the numbers in the corners of your card.
  • FREE SPACE - a square in the center of the card that is not marked with a number. It serves as a Joker, to suit your winning pattern.
  • G.T.I.  - An electronic dauber system used to play multiple packs at once. These usually require a rental fee and only one is allowed per player.
  • HARDWAY BINGO – a type of a bingo pattern without using a free space.
  • LUCKY JAR – a special prize for having the lucky number on your card.
  • MAIN STAGE BINGO - the main event of a bingo session.
  • MINIMUM BUY-IN - The minimum amount you must spend on cards to be eligible for Bingo prizes.
  • MONEY BALL - a number , drawn before beginning of the game, that doubles the winnings of those, whose cards have this number.
  • PATTERN - a shape which is required to cover a card in order to win.
  • PARTI – a cash bingo where the size of the prize depends upon the number of players.
  • POSTAGE STAMP PATTERN - a pattern that consists of covered 4 squares ( 2x2) in any corner of the card.
  • PRIZE BINGO – bingo game played for a specific prize.
  • RNG - Random Number Generator.
  • SPEED BALL (BINGO) a regular game where numbers are called quickly.
  • TABLE BOARD BINGO – a type of bingo where by covering the specific patterns players win prizes.
  • WAIT – The only number left that a player needs to complete a winning pattern.
  • WILD NUMBER – the last digit of a drawn number that leads to all the numbers ending with the same digit being covered. For example, if a 56 is drawn, players cover all the numbers ending with 6.
  • WRAP UP – the last game of a bingo session.
